How long will my child need tutoring?

This answer is going to vary based on a couple of key factors.

1.       Learning speed

2.       Motivation and Goals

3.       Consistency and Good Communication

I am able to close the gap one year group level for children in English and Maths with as little as 12 hours of instruction. My aim is to get your child to age expectation or greater depth.

You can expect to see noticeable improvements after a few sessions. Because every child is different and some need more repetition and consolidation than others, this may be longer for your child.

In my experience, the more motivated and actively involved a child is in their learning, the better their outcome. That is why I teach your child to develop their growth mindset. This will help your child to be more independent, take risks and build their confidence.

Also, your goals for your child's learning are an important factor. Some children need a 'catch up intervention', while others may need to be taught new learning for home schooling or to be prepared for tests.

Consistency and good communication is key to your child's progress. I will keep you up to date on their weekly progress with my lesson notes. After each lesson, I will also assign home learning, game-based learning or other assignments to help your child to continue to improve their skills. If there is an area that your child's teacher would like them to work on, please let me know and I will address this.

Sometimes life gets in the way of students being able to show up for their tutoring sessions.

If students miss too many sessions, then it becomes harder to close the gap.

The more consistent we both are, the better results your child gets.
